Generally speaking, most people in the United States
will tell you that a good service should give a tip of 15-20%. As a former server,
I tend to pay more than 20% of funds to support my friends
in the industry to show solidarity.
In addition, I am proud to say that when I waited for the last time, my tip averaged over 25%, but that was because
I was lucky to have great regular customers. True quality service may be rare,
but in my opinion, there is no upper limit on the percentage of tips your server deserves.
When the experience is very special and personalized,
I will give 100% tips on special occasions.
